Tuesday, May 3rd, 2011Derek finally convinced me to let him put and Apple sticker on Grayson’s toy computer. I gotta admit it’s pretty darn cute. There are often days when all three of us are sitting in the living room playing on our laptops. This little boy is well on his way to Geekdom.

The morning of the royal wedding Gray decided to wake up at 5:40am. I didn’t set my alarm clock or anything I just figured if the kid woke me up and it was on, I’d watch. It just so happened that he did. I grabbed my laptop and started watching the wedding coverage streaming live on Hulu. After awhile I needed me some HD so I turned on the TV, but left Hulu streaming on too, because the commentary from the web broadcast was better and commercial free.
Yes, I made the kiddo watch too. If he wanted to wake up at 5:40am then he was going to have to watch girly stuff on TV. Grayson, you just got Mommed!

On Saturday Derek had to study. He’s almost done with his last semester of grad school, thank the Lord! That means by the end of May I get my husband back. So freakin’ happy!
We’ve been having a ton of storms down here in the south and it’s been hard to get out of the house, because you might get sucked up by a tornado. When the weather took a break from torturing us southerners I jumped at the chance to get Gray out of the house. He’s never been to the zoo, and I thought Saturday would be the perfect day to take him. My friend Rachel joined me and The G-man. Both of our husbands were studying that morning, so she was just as willing to get out and enjoy the day as I was.

There was a really brave duck hanging out in the gorilla habitat.

Gray LOVED the Grizzly Bears. These two were running and playing the entire time, and Gray couldn’t get enough of the funny bear action. When these two would wrestle the kid would crack up.

We stopped to see the polar bears, but they were just chillin’ on the rocks and not very active. Right next to the polar bears are the sea lions, so we stopped in for the show.

…aaaaaaaaaaaand then he crashed. We got to the zoo around 9:30am which was already pushing on his 1st nap of the day. He hung in there as long as he could, but only made it though about 1/2 of the zoo. At least we went to see the most active animals first so he didn’t really miss much once he was snoozing.

Shortly after he passed out a lady came up and took a picture of him sleeping in his stroller. Rachel and I looked at each other confused and then at the lady. She shyly smiled at us, said “He’s so precious!”, and then turned her camera so we could see her LCD screen with the picture of my sleeping baby. It was a bit odd, but kind of cool to know that someone thought my child was so adorable that they just HAD to take a picture to forever capture his adorableness.
Has this happened to anyone else? Were you totally creeped out or did you think it was kind of funny like me?
