Wedding Day Tunes

Wednesday, June 3rd, 2009

Thought I would treat everyone to a few of my favorite songs from our wedding day.

We danced our first dance to “Waste” by Phish. It is really a wonderful song. If you are searching for a unique 1st dance song that no one is expecting try “Waste”. Our DJ said that it was the 1st time he has ever played Phish at a wedding. Ha! Yea….us!!!!

“Laissez Les Bon Temps Roulez”

The Dave Matthews Band is about to release there new album and until you can purchase it Pandora.com (internet radio…awesome!) is giving people the chance to listen to the entire album for FREE!  Just go to Pandora.com and follow the link.

This album has a mix of many of their previous albums with an added touch of blues.  My favorites so far are “Alligator Pie” & “Seven”.  What are yours?  The album cover reminds me of a New Orleans Jazz Fest poster.  I grew up in the great city of New Orleans myself, and I love things that remind me of my childhood.  So kick back, enjoy the mellow rhythms courtesy of DMB, and “Laissez les bon temps roulez” (let the good times roll!).

Bagpipes

Friday, November 7th, 2008

So as a little surprise for our wedding guests Derek and I thought it would be awesome to have a kilted bagpiper playing as guest arrive to the ceremony & lead Derek and I into the reception hall for the 1st time.  Steve, the bagpiper, was wonderful.

All of our guests loved him, and quite a few wouldn’t stop chatting the man up.  That’s okay though!  Steve was extremely polite and friendly.  If anyone for whatever reason needs or wants a little something different for an event or party I highly suggest Gallowglass Pipers.
