May the Force Be With You

Tuesday, October 27th, 2009

Since we have two LARGE dogs we don’t normally get the chance to dress them up like you would a smaller dog.  After seeing pictures of other dogs wearing this hilarious Yoda costume I just had to get one for my two.  I just had to.

I paid $14.95 for a costume that each dog wore a total of five minutes, but it was so worth it.  Personally, I think Cohen rather enjoyed the experience.

Cohen did the best when it came to sitting still for the pictures.  His facial expressions are belly-achingly hysterical.  If his pictures crack you up just imagine trying to keep the camera steady while shooting pictures of this kid.  Wrigley was not as good of a sport when it came to sitting still, but her pictures are just as funny but in a random pose/action kind of way.  Enjoy.

Then there was Wriggley.  She wasn’t quite as pleasant of a participant in this puppy photo shoot.  I think Cohen liked wearing the costume a bit too much.

Wrigley caught sight of a tennis ball under the couch, and she just had to have it.  So she slid down to pick it up.

She was so excited to have her ball.  She didn’t even want to play with it.  She just wanted to have it in her possession.  DONE.

Derek took her ball so we could try getting a better picture of her in her costume.

This is what we ended up with.  You can’t see Derek, right?!?

And then she stopped participating….

I think she was hiding from us.

Spoooooky!!!!!

In the spooooky spirit of Halloween I thought I would share with you some of my photography and Photoshop skills.  This is a picture of an old post office in the abandoned mining town of Rush, Arkansas.  Derek and I were up that way a few years back for Christmas, visiting his grandmother, and had the opportunity to drive around some of the countryside in the area.  I have a crazy love for dilapidated buildings, barns, and any other kind of worn down structure.

Spooky Post Office

To give this old post office a bit more of that Halloween spooky feeling I added a few texture layers to it in Photoshop.  I absolutely love, love, love how it turned out.  I am really liking what a bit of texture can add to a photo.

Our Story…

Tuesday, September 2nd, 2008

I thought I would share the story of how Derek & I met and fell in love….in case some of you have not heard it.

We met when a group of friends went out for Halloween in 2005. He was a bit of an annoyance the 1st time we met, but I guess annoying me is the way to my heart! I love him more than anything in the world, now!

P.S. I was a bumble bee and he was 1 of the SNL pair Hans & Frans.
