Textured Spout

.:: My Memphis ::.

This is an amazing picture that my darling husband took of a very colorful spout somewhere in downtown memphis.  I added a few texture layers in Photoshop to give it a bit more of a grungy vibe.  Don’t you just love the little bit of spider web hanging down from the opening?

Green Umbrella

green-open

This is the new umbrella that we bought at Lowe’s to replace the rusted umbrella we originally got for our patio table.  Now if we can just get the pollen to stop falling, the bugs to stop biting, and Cohen to stop pooping on the patio we can enjoy a nice meal or afternoon in our backyard.

How To Catch a Leprechaun

Tuesday, March 17th, 2009

Happy St. Patrick’s Day everyone!

In the spirit of St. Patty’s Day I wanted to share the cutest story about a little girl named Bresa, her dad, and a leprechaun. I stumbled across this sweet story earlier today on a Bresa’s mom’s blog called ‘The Taylor Family‘…

………………………………………………………………………………….

Last night Bresa and Daddy set up a trap to catch a leprechaun. They used a shoebox and put a dollar in as bait because Bresa said they like money. She really wanted to catch one because she said they would give us a pot of gold if we did. Well, this morning Bresa saw that the trap had been triggered and ran over to check the inside. Unfortunately the leprechaun had escaped through a hole and tried to take the dollar too but it got stuck on the way out.http://nefad.org/wp/wp-content/uploads/2009/02/leprechaun.jpgInside the box the leprechaun had made quite a mess and left green footprints all over and shamrocks on the floor. He also managed to paint the entire inside green and sprayed it all with green glitter too. He got green all over the dollar and the pencil that held the trap open. He didn’t leave any gold but he did leave a couple green heart stickers for both the girls.

Also, when Daddy went to get milk for breakfast we found that the leprechaun had made the milk green! This leprechaun sure made a mess of things, I am sure glad St. Patrick’s Day only comes once a year. We went to Grandma’s and Bresa brought the trap to show her and left it there, otherwise I would have posted pictures of it to show you the mess the leprechaun made.

I’m gonna try to catch a leprechaun for myself next St. Patty’s Day.  I want me some gold!

Re-painting

Friday, January 30th, 2009

We are in the process of painting the dining room & living room.  Both rooms have been a tan color since Derek bought the house in 2006, and we are sick of it.  So we decided to go with a little color.  The name of the paint is hilarious….Jalapeno Jelly.  I’ve never tasted Jalapeno Jelly myself, but if I had the chance I would guess my immediate reaction would be to gag!  Nasty!!!

Derek, painting in his nicest Hooter’s t-shirt.  C-L-A-S-S-Y!

The Cake

Wednesday, December 3rd, 2008

Our cake couldn’t have turned out any better.  We had a bakery in Southaven, MS named Brown Baguette make the cake.  I brought in a photo to the baker for inspiration and she took over from there.  Derek and I both think that our cake turned out better than the cake we mocked it off of.  Take a look….

The Cake

Wednesday, October 15th, 2008

This is the cake that I modeled mine after.  Mine has some slight variations though.  I will not spoil the surprise and tell you about them.  I will tell you that my wedding cake will be 4 layers with the top and bottom layers being Red Velvet (my absolute fave!!!!), and the two middle layers being white & chocolate (one flavor per layer).  I figured that not everyone likes red velvet cake so I decided to to Bridezilla out on this one and give the people what they want…..chocolate & white layers.

I know, I know…..I am too kind.  You can thank me at the wedding when “my” teeth are stained a lovely shade of red from the cake. ;)

Maid of Honor Dress

Stephanie loves the fact that this dress has pockets! I have adored this dress for the longest time and I am sooooo jealous that she gets to wear it on my wedding day. I swear…if they made the thing in white I would totally wear it for my wedding dress.

Just kidding mom.
