Cotton Pickin’ Cuteness

Thursday, January 12th, 2012

Now that the holidays are over I can breathe again and finally get around to post about some of the shoots I went on in October, November, and December. Yay!

Meet, Cari and Scott. They are new to the south, but fitting right in. Cari is as sweet as can be, and Scott (once you break him from his shell and talk about biking or the Oregon Ducks) is just as fun loving as his wife. Originally, we had intended to shoot their session in a cotton field, but we missed the harvest. Don’t worry they were able to get a few shots in a cotton field when they ran out to one for a quick session with a friend one day. I’d never thought to shoot in a cotton field. Such a cute idea. Cari I now blame you for getting that thought stuck in my head. I dream about cotton now, and can’t wait for the fall so I can go take some cotton pickin’ pictures. I had to. I’m sorry.

Anywho, we found a suitable location, and captured some sweet moments. Here’s a few of my favorites.

The pesky town square decorated the barn all harvesty. Is that a word? Harvesty? Oh well. I could have lived without the corn stalks in the shot, but what are ya’ gonna do? I do however love the light in this one.

Look at this girl jumping right on into the southern culture, and sporting her a pair of cowboy boots.

If you are a fan of Bella Vita and/or Itty Bitty Bella you might recognize Cari from shopping there. If not, go there and shop. You won’t regret it. The shops are awesome!

Happy Turkey Day Y’all

Thursday, November 24th, 2011

I hope everyone enjoyed lots and lots of turkey, tofurkey, or turducken today. Since I was a total slacker and finally finished putting my fall mantle together yesterday I made sure to take a photo of it. I’ve been so busy these past few weeks with holiday photo sessions, people love their photo holiday cards…I know I do, and editing non-stop I haven’t had much time to make my mantle look all purdy-like.

Luckily, I made that wreath during October or else it would never have been finished. I love how it turned out. I was able to reuse many pieces from my Halloween mantle and the other decor was just grabbed from around the house. So, this bad boy was F, to the R, to the E-E!!!

I figured I would take the few spare minutes I had to myself yesterday to make it look pretty, because who knows how long it will take me to get our Christmas decor up.

Well, I’m off to eat some pie and a second helping of turkey. Peace.

Happy Fall Y’all

Wednesday, November 23rd, 2011

Down here in the south the leaves have finally begun to change, and due to the past few extremly W-I-N-D-Y days many of those beautiful leaves have sadly made their way down to the ground. But just as much as I love looking a the colorful leaves on the trees; Grayson loves playing in the leaves once they hit the ground. We took him to play in the leaves in a public lot on our street that houses some strange green electrical box…let’s hope it doesn’t give of cancerous waves. *fingers crossed*  Our yard is filled with dog poop in the back (cuz we don’t pick that stuff up), and the front yard simply didn’t have many leaves in it yet.

He loves the bubble mower he got for his birthday and really hasn’t had the opportunity to push it around outdoors much. Indoors, he is constantly pushing it around, and terrorizing the dogs with it. Hehe. I mean, poor puppies.

He can’t quite get the speed up yet to make the bubbles come out on his own, so in steps Daddy. The child loves bubbles so much that as soon as he saw them pop out of the mower he left in hot pursuit of those soapy little floating orbs.

Then he pretty much left the mower all together to go roll around in a giant pile of leaves.

I love how he looks like a tiny lumberjack in that red plaid shirt. Thank you, Target.

It’s like a ball pit, but with leaves.

This one is going in a frame. I love how you can barely see him. He had a blast rolling around in the leaves.

By the way, he has on a cloth diaper in these pics. They tend to bulge out a bit more than sposies. I swear that’s not  3 days worth of poo & pee in his dipe. Although the pic below might look like it.

Have you played in the leaves yet this fall?

Acorns

Monday, October 26th, 2009

I love the the deep browns and yellows found in the fallen acorns this time of year.  Here are a few I picked up in my yard today I left the other 9 gazillion that have fallen outside for the squirrels.
