Scuba Anyone?

Tuesday, March 24th, 2009

I thought today I would share with you one of my all-time favorite videos of my husband and his best friend Ryan.  In college these two took a scuba class and then went out and bought all the gear.  Just like a guy, right?!  Anyway…one night these two got the idea that it would be fun to gear-up and scuba around the house.  Enjoy…

I was browsing through some old photos on the computer and came across some of our first attempts of delaying the shutter to get some cool time delay pictures at night…

A Fresh Look to the Blog

Saturday, January 10th, 2009

Since the wedding is over and Derek and I are now beginning our married life together I though I would keep adding posts about things in our life after the wedding.  These new posts will contain everything from the dogs, holidays, special moments, to random happenings in our daily lives.  Cuz I know everyone is dying to hear about how we cleaned the house on Tuesday, and then we watched TV.  I know, I know I can barely contain myself either.

With this new spin on this blog I decided to give it a bit of a face lift too.  Enjoy!

Yummy….

Friday, September 26th, 2008

This is a little off the topic of the wedding, but it does involve my husband-to-be and his superb cooking skills.

Wednesday, Derek and I decided to try something different for dinner so we headed out to our favorite, way over-priced, grocery store called Fresh Market.  We picked up some fresh salmon, dill, cucumber and a few other things and headed back home to make one of the most delicious salmon dishes I’ve ever tasted.  I don’t know what a good name for it yet is, so I will just call it A la Derok.  Derek whipped up some A la Derok for us and we moved our awesome dinning room table so that we could see the tv in the living room.  (we rented a movie)

Now normally we will plop down on the couch & use the coffee table as our dining surface, but we were feeling fancy!  So, we turned the table to see the TV, got out the fancy napkins, started “Lars and the Real Girl” in the x-box, and enjoyed our delicious A la Derok salmon.  I can’t wait to have more nights like that with Derek.  We have so much fun together.

…..Oh yeah, I forgot the funniest part.  The entire time we were eating, you could see two little puppy dog noses poking up from the othere side of the table, furiously sniffing and taking in that great samon smell.

I Need Your Help…

Wednesday, September 17th, 2008

I need your help.  We are trying to decide what amount, if any, facial hair Derek should sport on the big day.  So Derek suggested we leave it up to visitors of this blog.  Leave a comment and let us know what day of facial hair growth you like.  We have been taking a picture of Derek each day to track the growth of his face.

I have always been a sucker for a little bit of stubble, but there are times when a guy just needs to sport that clean shaven look.  Please keep in mind when viewing these lovely pictures of my handsome fiance that these pictures were taken with a camera phone (Derek’s new toy….his iPhone) and that often times he is making a funny face.
