So I just realized I never posted anything about the honeymoon.

Derek and I went to St. Martin (the French Half) and had an amazing time.  We saw a few naked people, drank a few fruity drinks, got wonderful massages, and caught up on our Z’s.  If you ever get the chance to take a trip down that way you should look into St. Martin/St. Marteen.  And if you rent a car….it will be a driving experience you will never forget!  I promise.

We had a Toyota Yaris….( a teeny tiny car ) it rocked!  I was so excited, really!

Our cake couldn’t have turned out any better.  We had a bakery in Southaven, MS named Brown Baguette make the cake.  I brought in a photo to the baker for inspiration and she took over from there.  Derek and I both think that our cake turned out better than the cake we mocked it off of.  Take a look….

So as a little surprise for our wedding guests Derek and I thought it would be awesome to have a kilted bagpiper playing as guest arrive to the ceremony & lead Derek and I into the reception hall for the 1st time.  Steve, the bagpiper, was wonderful.

All of our guests loved him, and quite a few wouldn’t stop chatting the man up.  That’s okay though!  Steve was extremely polite and friendly.  If anyone for whatever reason needs or wants a little something different for an event or party I highly suggest Gallowglass Pipers.

This is the cake that I modeled mine after.  Mine has some slight variations though.  I will not spoil the surprise and tell you about them.  I will tell you that my wedding cake will be 4 layers with the top and bottom layers being Red Velvet (my absolute fave!!!!), and the two middle layers being white & chocolate (one flavor per layer).  I figured that not everyone likes red velvet cake so I decided to to Bridezilla out on this one and give the people what they want…..chocolate & white layers.

I know, I know…..I am too kind.  You can thank me at the wedding when “my” teeth are stained a lovely shade of red from the cake.
