RSVP Cards

Monday, August 11th, 2008

Below are the RSVP cards that I have mocked up for the wedding….  I thought it would be nice to the environment and my wallet to have some of the younger more computer savvy croud respond by email rather than the traditional mail response.  I hope it works!

The first RSVP you see here is the, reply by mail card….

This is the, reply by email card…..

Thank You Notes

Wednesday, July 30th, 2008

Sunday I sat down and wrote my first set of thank you cards to the people who attended my shower at work.  The majority of things others told me to expect when planning a wedding have not come true, but the fact that my hand will begin to cramp from writing way too may thank you notes was the one thing that was TRUE!  I really wish people were wrong about that one little fact.

It is nice to know that so far all my thank you notes are out of the way.  Praise the lord for that.  The wedding time crunch is really grabbing hold now.  It’s hard to find time to do much of anything these days.

Maid of Honor Dress

Stephanie loves the fact that this dress has pockets! I have adored this dress for the longest time and I am sooooo jealous that she gets to wear it on my wedding day. I swear…if they made the thing in white I would totally wear it for my wedding dress.

Just kidding mom.

My Original Wedding Gown

Sunday, July 20th, 2008

Okay, so I had originally fell deeply in love with a gorgeous silk spaghetti strap gown from J.Crew.  We ordered this $1,900.00 piece of art; before we truly knew what our wedding budget was going to be.  When we realized that the cost of the dress would be a decent chunk of our budget, we decided to return the dress.  It was a sad day, the day we returned the dress to the J.Crew store.  All the employees at the store rushed to the counter when they realized one of the wedding gowns was just returned.

This gown came in its own custom made preservation box and a beautiful satin hanger for the big day.  The box was wonderful too.  The lid had the sweetest light pink ribbon on it, and a very simple J.Crew printed in the lower corner in a light gray.  I think after realizing I needed to return the dress I just wanted to keep the custom box.

Derek’s mom said to at least try on the dress to make sure it wasn’t the “one”.  That way I wouldn’t have to wonder if I wore the right dress on my wedding day for the rest of my life.  So I tried on the dress.  It was very pretty.  I realized that although very lovely, it would need some tailoring, and I had $0 left in my dress budget.  Oh yeah, Derek walked into the room while I had the dress on.  So there you go, tradition states….it is bad luck for the groom to see the bride in her gown before the ceremony.

Well, to end on a happy note….

Me, Stephie, & mom went to Low’s in Brinkley, AR, a huge wedding gown boutique, and found a beautiful gown for my big day.  I would tell you about it, but I don’t want to give too much away.  I guess you will have to wait and see.

Birdie Tags

These are gift tags that I purchased off Etsy.  Ihey were my first purchase on Etsy.  I adore them.  I think I will use them for my attendent gift & shower hostess gifts.  The little birdies go along nicely with my love birds on the invites.  Don’t ya think?
