My entry this week is of my husband Derek and my brother in-law Davis, and it’s definitely in the CRAZY category.  I captured this loving image when I asked Derek and Davis to pose for a shot portraying what loving brothers they are.  This is what they gave me…

And for the non-judged category, Pets, my entry is of a young boy at the zoo and his dream pet…a polar bear!  I love this exhibit at the Memphis Zoo.

Due to Derek being in Grad School at the start of the summer; we spent the majority of the summer at home.  Davis, Derek’s younger brother came and kept us company a few weekends during the early summer months.

The above pictures is of Cohen out enjoying the hot summer nights with his personal bug blocker system on his collar.  Yes, he really did enjoy the thing…it had a fan on it!

Once Derek was out of school in early July we began spending our weekends at PIckwick Lake with my parents, and our friends.

We also enjoyed a fantastic 4th of July with my inlaws.

For this week’s challenge :: At the Beach :: I decided to go with a portrait of my husband and me.  Before we were married, Derek and I decided to take a vacation together to Destin, FL for a little fun in the sun.  I had recently purchased the most wonderful dress in the world from J.Crew, and just had to have a picture of me wearing it on the beach.  It is a lobster dress.  AWESOME, right!?!

So before dinner one night we drove to a public beach that had plenty of tall grass and rolling sand mounds.  We set up the tri-pod and took a picture of me in my Lobster Dress, and Derek in a beachy like ensemble.  We loved the picture so much we decided to use it for our engagement announcement in the local paper.

This weeks challenge is NEW!  I ? Faces has asked for photos that focus on feet instead of faces.  Well right of the bat I knew what I wanted to enter.  This is a picture from my honeymoon in St. Martin FWI in October 2008.  I took this picture not to take the typical feet on the beach/feet in the sand shot, but to make everyone jealous of my view of the world while everyone else was bundling up in sweaters back in Memphis.

I have decided to use a photo of my dog Wrigley as my first submission to the I ? Faces :: Pets contest.  Wrigley is a rescue that was found under a trailer in West Memphis, AR nursing 7 puppies.  They believe she had been there for over a week; starving herself and caring for her newborn pups.  She just melts in your arms, melts your heart, and is grateful for every moment she spends with you.  So even if this photo doesn’t win, I’m glad I got a chance to share her story with you.
