Oh, Christmas Tree

It’s Christmas tree time! And since it’s Squishy’s first Christmas he wanted to get in on the action. The day after Thanksgiving we put the movie Elf on the TV (can you see Buddy in the background?), whipped up some hot chocolate and got to work on putting up Squishy’s 1st Christmas tree.

We didn’t do a ton of decorating this year one reason was due to us getting use to our new one income family budget, and another it’s just too much trouble with a wee one to watch after. So, we decorated the tree and put up the stockings, and hung a wreath on the front door and called it a day.

I hate the tree skirt we’ve had for the past couple of years. This year I decided since we have somewhat of a rustic Christmas tree I thought burlap would be a perfect tree skirt. Last week I went and picked up 2 yards of burlap from Hancock’s and threw it around the base of the tree.

Here are a few of my favorite ornaments on our tree.

This one is from a shop I found on Etsy last year. I just love it. It is metal, but so beautiful.

I found these adorable free printable gift tags online. The bad thing is, I can’t remember where. Sorry. If I remember I will add it to the post.

I added a few pretties to the mantel.

Yes, those are split peas. An idea I picked up from Katie over at Bower Power.

And my favorite holiday decoration…my reindeer. He is so sweet. I picked him up from Crate & Barrel last year. Doesn’t he look so regal and handsome?
