A New Kind of Girls Room
No, we do not know the gender of the bean yet, but I wanted to have nursery mood boards done before the big reveal…which is in about 5 weeks. Here is the mood board I put together for a girl’s room. Now, I know it’s different from the norm, but it wouldn’t be like Derek and I to do something the easy way.

Derek and I want to stay away from pink as the main color, for a girl. With girls, you tend to get tons of pink at your showers anyway; so why end up drowning in the color? Ya know? I wonder what my mom is going to thing about this girlie decor. I hope to have a mood board together for a “possible” boy’s room here in the next few weeks.

We didn’t do the “typical” girl’s room, either,though it was a good thing she was a girl since the adjoining bathroom is pink tile (and we aren’t retiling any time soon). We did a jungle theme w/ browns, greens, florals, and tan. No pink, except in the floral pattern in her carpet.
