They Are Finished!
Not quite as dark as I would have liked, but I think this color matches the age of our house. We’ll go with darker wood on the next house.

The age of your house looks around the 30′s to 40′s era? Ours is 1931 and we just did ours last year. I am really thinking of stealing your wall color…Ours looks very blah with the hardwood floor (harvest meadow or some other form of really dark/bright beigish yellow). What color is on your walls?
The floors look great…if you have any secrets to keeping them clean that do not require me to get on my hands and knees, let me know
Alicia,
Thanks for the compliment & the read. Our house is from around the 40′s. I know exactly how you feel. I had a blah skin color on our walls before the green. Not wanting my skin to blend into my walls is what prompted us to paint them the pop of color they are now. As a matter of fact I think the skin color we had on our walls was called Harvest Gold. We painted them Jalapeno Jelly by Valspar (@ Lowe’s).
As for the floor…we just use water and vinegar. One part vinegar to two parts water. We use a mop and bucket for the job. Just mop the floors with the mixture in a 5×5 ft area then take a dry towel and use your foot to dry the area. The vinegar cuts through grease and helps reduce odors. The best part is it’s virtually free (minus a huge bottle of vinegar you can buy on the cheap), and green.
Looks great!!!!
