Just A Splash Of Pee

Cohen doesn’t like to get dirty.  I think he may be the only dog over 50 lbs that would rather use a puppy pad to do his business indoors than risk going outdoors and stepping in a puddle.  I’ve begged Derek to let me buy dog booties for him, but he just drops his head, shakes it an walks away.  I’m all I totally think he would love them.  It’s the ground he finds icky.  Oh and maybe a puppy rain slicker.  I wish they had wellies for dogs.  How cute would that be?

This morning Memphis was being desecrated by a torrential downpour, and when Derek let the dogs out to do their business Cohen walked out onto the stoop saw the puddle of rainwater below turned around and walked right back in the door.  NO JOKE.  On partially rainy days, he will at least trot over to the nearest tree and hike a leg.  (We only get #1 out of him on these days…he would rather hold it than risk getting too wet icky.)

After demanding he go back outside, more than a few times, Derek finally had to walk with Cohen to the backyard where Cohen proceeded to go to the bathroom.  BUT…Cohen only walked on the path, hopping over puddles, and finally taking refuge on our newly constructed outdoor fire pit area.  Yes, my dog (or should I say princess) Cohen, in effort to keep his paws dry decided not to pee in the yard like other male dogs.  No, our little princess Cohen stood on the patio and peed on a pile of firewood.  Thanks for that buddy.

So the next time we light a fire we should be hit with the musk of Cohen’s urine like a MAC truck filled with dried cement…and just a splash of pee.
